Copenhagen welcomes new venue with the opening of Royal Arena

Copenhagen’s new large multi arena, the Royal Arena, has a capacity for up to 16,000 guests.
Monday, February 6, 2017

Copenhagen residents and city guests will be able to enjoy the international level arena, large enough for national and international music, cultural and sports events which will enhance the international profile of the city.

Royal Arena opened its doors for the very first time with a sold-out concert by the world's biggest heavy-metal band, Metallica. But big names like The Weeknd, Rod Stewart, John Mayer and Cirque du Soleil will follow and perform at this new venue in 2017.

“I’m pleased that the Danish capital is to have an arena so that Copenhagen can hold its own against cities such as London, Berlin, Stockholm and Hamburg. It will give space for many exciting events for Copenhageners and guests. The arena will also attract growth to Copenhagen and the greater Copenhagen region as well as even more investment in Orestad”, said the Copenhagen Lord Mayor, Frank Jensen.
