The 3rd Cluster Matchmaking Conference 2015 took place on September 17-18 in Copenhagen, and was dedicated to matching clusters (and SME networks) with each other to maximize cross cluster collaboration around the theme ‘Innovation by Combination’.
The conference attracted 237 delegates from 20 countries and was held at Copenhagen Street Food, a venue which was specifically selected for the conference. Merete Danielsen, Director of Cluster Excellence Denmark, Zealand, explains:
’’Copenhagen Street Food has been a truly unique place to have our conference. Our participating countries thought that the distinctive décor, incredible food and atmosphere, was a very special experience. At the same time the décor fit perfectly with our wishes for networking and arrangement of the conference.’’
Ideal for delegate networking
Copenhagen Street Food consists of 35 food stalls that are housed in a former paper warehouse building situated at Copenhagen’s harbour front. It is open to the public but can also be booked for conferences and events. The ample floor space makes the venue ideal for short ‘speed date’ meetings, receptions and networking.
This is also the reason why Meeting Professional International (MPI) has chosen Copenhagen Street Food for the opening reception at their annual European Meetings & Event Conference (EMEC) in Copenhagen in February 2016.
Innovation by Combination
The theme of the Cluster Matchmaking Conference 2015 was ‘Innovation by Combination’, which was realized by combining forces across clusters, across borders and across sectors. Among other things, the conference brought the delegates an overview of different possibilities for funding to develop or enhance international cluster cooperation activities.
